*Special Introduction to Memoir Writing

Do you have a story to tell the world? Anyone interested in writing everything from autobiographies to the intimately personal memoir should participate in this special introductory workshop. Research, interviews and soul searching are some of the ingredients that make-up the journey of a good memoir or biography. Get some basic tips before starting your journey! Specific writing exercises will be used to help you tap into your creativity and work past writer’s block. This is a one-session summer intensive workshop. Instructor: Michel Marriott. Registration Fee: $20.

Get a preview of our fall eight session memoir writing workshop for the low price of $20!

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Michel Marriott: For much of the last 20 years, Michel Marriott had been a staff writer at The New York Times. He has covered numerous beats, including New York’s City Hall, national education, urban poverty and drug abuse, as well the racial and ethnic conflagrations of the Los Angeles and Miami riots. Beginning in 1998, Michel began to write exclusively about high-technology for the newspaper’s weekly Tech section, Circuits, and continues – as a contract writer -- to write about the impact of consumer electronics on American culture. Michel’s work has been twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
